Ingredients

2 tablespoons (1/4 stick) butter
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup prepared chili sauce
1/2 cup catsup
1/4 cup cider vinegar
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon molasses
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika

Preparation

  1. Melt butter in large skillet over medium-low heat. Add onion. Cover and cook until translucent, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Blend in remaining ingredients. Bring sauce to boil. Reduce heat and simmer gently, uncovered, 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve at room temperature.
