Ingredients

2 15-ounce cans black beans, rinsed, drained
3/4 cup tahini (sesame seed paste)*
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup (packed) chopped fresh cilantro
4 green onions, sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 large garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Pita bread rounds, cut into triangles
*Available at Middle Eastern and natural foods stores and some supermarkets.

Preparation

  1. Combine first 9 ingredients in processor until smooth. Season hummus to taste with salt and pepper. Spoon hummus into bowl. Serve with pita triangles.
