Ingredients

1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 tablespoon firmly packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1/4 cup smooth peanut butter
1/2 cup half-and-half
4 1/2 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons water

Preparation

  1. In a heavy saucepan melt the butter with the brown sugar and the corn syrup over moderate heat, stirring, whisk in the peanut butter and the half-and-half, and bring the mixture to a simmer. Add the chocolate and the salt, whisk the sauce until it is smooth, and whisk in the water. Serve the sauce warm over ice cream.
